The local enhanced service (LES) templates and reports are provided as part of the Ardens Plus & Pro package and ensure all your service specifications, templates and reports are all in one place. This saves you from hunting in folders for this & wasting valuable time. For further information about this, please just contact us.

To access your LES template, go to Auto consultations > Ardens Contracts > Local Enhanced Services or just search for your ICB name in the bottom left of SystmOne. You can also add this template to your F12 favourites for quick access.

The LES template includes pages for the different areas and fields for the different payment and audit indicators. There are also links to the specifications and the Ardens Manager LCS Dashboard (if you are subscribed to this). As a new feature on Ardens SystmOne, a view is being included to identify any outstanding 'work to do' for that patient.

On the main Ardens consultation templates, for example 'Atrial Fibrillation & Flutter', you will see a yellow star next to any LCS field. There may also be red stars for QOF and blue stars for NCD and other national contracts.

Please note: These yellow stars are not specific to your ICB as this is not possible, but clicking the yellow star at the bottom right of the template will open your local enhanced service template.

Reporting

Ardens also provides the appropriate contract reports too. To see these, go to Clinical Reporting > Ardens > Contracts | Local Contracts

Work to do reports

In the 'Work to do' folder you will see a list of all outstanding work to do. As a new feature of Ardens Plus & Pro on SystmOne, we are beginning to implement a new report that covers all of your LCS which will make identifying and running your reports easier. As an example for HWE ICB, just select the '2023-24 | All - HWE ECF 2023-24' report and click run. Once this has finished running, click the 'Last run' column header so it sorts all the reports by the run date. You will then see all of your LCS's at the top. If you wish, you can also create a patient status alert for this report to identify any patients with work to do when you open their record.

Work done reports

Go to the annual, quarterly or monthly folders to see the work done during that time period. As a new feature of Ardens Plus & Pro on SystmOne, we are beginning to implement a new report that covers all of your LCS work done which will make identifying and running your reports easier. As an example for HWE ICB, just select the '2023-24 | All - HWE ECF' report and click run. Once this has finished running, click the 'Last run' column header so it sorts all the reports by the run date. You will then see all of your LCS's at the top.

Some LES indicator reports are for item/activity counts, not patient counts. An example is phlebotomy tests done. These are highlighted with '(breakdown by item count)' at the end of the report name. For further information on this, please see this support article.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are code clusters used?

Sometimes a number of SNOMED codes exist which have the same meaning, for example ‘asthma review’ and 'asthma monitoring’. If you have a CCG or Public Health Department who reports on your data on your behalf, they will need to include the code that is used on Ardens. This should be simple for them to do and is no different to how QOF. NCD, CQRS, SMI and other contracts and code clusters work. If any assistance is needed for this, please let us know.

Why are there only quarterly & annual LCS prescribing reports, not monthly?

LCS prescribing reporting is a difficult area within both EMIS Web and SystmOne, as multiple factors influence any reports for data submission. The aim is to ensure that practices are paid for monitoring they do for patients on a drug within a time period.

The main issue behind this is the definition of ‘on a drug’.  As drugs can be issued for a period longer than a month, there is no guarantee that a register looking at anything less than a quarter will pick up a drug correctly. If reporting monthly, it is possible the patient would be omitted from the report even if on the drug, as it may not have been issued in that timeframe.

A further issue is that there aren’t specific drug monitoring codes, just the generic ‘DMARD monitoring’ and ‘high risk drug monitoring’ code. A user could have added this to monitor any drug and if the register is not accurate, show it as monitoring for another.

As a consequence of the above and to ensure report accuracy and best practice, Ardens only build LCS prescribing reports at a quarterly and annual frequency. If your ICB has requested monthly prescribing reports, please just use the quarterly reports instead.
