This template is based on the latest NICE guidance. This will help guide correct management and antifungal treatment choices for this common primary care presentation.


The template can be located in the following ways:


  • Auto-Consultation > ardens CONDITIONS INFECTIONS > Thrush / Vulvovaginal 
  • Use the bottom left search bar in SystmOne


If using on a regular basis, save to F12 favourites for quick access.


The template is split across separate tabs along the top or hyperlinks within the home page, this allows you to navigate to the appropriate section dependant on whether it is an acute or recurrent infection.


Home

The home page allows you to document the encounter type and seen by codes for other professional roles which are linked to reports as part of the NCD PCN Des (see further down for report details).


The view gives a snapshot of relevant medical history for any infections or covid coding, microbiology results and relevant medications.


Acute

You'll notice the options within the Management section at the bottom of the template are initially 'greyed out'.  The appropriate management and advice will be highlighted once you've ticked the relevant box in the Impression section.


Assessment

Both the History and Examination free text boxes have presets available alongside to save a bit of typing.

Click on the preset button (notepad icon) and add 1 or multiple lines of text by pressing & holding Ctrl on the keyboard and using mouse to select. The text can be edited once added to the template. 



Should you wish to record temperature/BP, height/weight etc. click the Vitals template to the right, this will save you leaving the current template and opening another.


There is a drop down menu to record any chaperone present etc. with a link to the chaperone template to add a little more detail if required.


Impression

One of the boxes must be ticked to activate the Management guidance greyed out below.


Management

Allows you to quickly document advice given along with guidance on appropriate management steps and links to other templates that maybe also be needed.

Prescribing

Click the Formulary hyperlink or Acute Formulary tab along the top to prescribe medications.

TIP: To return to the Acute page, use the tabs along the top of the template.  Clicking Ok will close the template.


The OTC Medication has a Patient Leaflet available as a Word document or there is a hyperlink bottom left if preferring to forward by text/email instead.

The Follow-Up template shows any pending appointments/visits, outstanding tasks, SystmOne recalls etc. There is a link to the Appointment Ledger, creating a task etc.


The swab template has a link to ICE/T-quest, Labeltrace for any swabs being sent to the lab. 

Urine MC+S provides interpretation of results as well as historical results.


The Phlebotomy template will show historical results and has a link to ICE/T-quest to add a new request.  There is a preset button next to the Bloods requested free text box to save typing.


Recurrent 

The layout of this section mirrors the Primary Infection tab as above listing the criteria at the top and relevant guidance and advice. 

Again you'll need to tick the box in the Impression section to activate the appropriate Management currently greyed out below.

Tick to document advice given, use the Recurrent Formulary link to navigate to prescribe medication.

TIP: To return to the Recurrent page, use the tabs along the top of the template.  Clicking Ok will close the template.


Referral

Provides guidance on when to refer the patient. Tick the relevant Advice/referral box to active the Action section below.



Resources

The Resources tab contains useful website links with information that can be sent to a patient via text/email by copying & pasting the link in to Send Message.




Reports

To find patients who were seen by other professional roles:


Go to Clinical Reporting > select the Ardens Ltd folder > Contracts | 2022 23 | NCD > d NCD Management Indicators
