This article explains how to use both the Ardens pneumococcal vaccination template along with the Ardens pneumococcal reports.
Please note – In line with Greenbook criteria patients who require 5 yearly pneumococcal vaccinations will be included in our invitation reports as soon as 5 years have passed since their last vaccination (see reporting section below for more detail). GPES extraction business rules for PNEU001 and PNEU004 only include patients vaccinated in the extraction month whose previous vaccination was more than 5 years before the start of the financial year (For example, for 2024-25, Patients will only be included if the previous vaccination was before 1 April 2019). Patients that fall outside the business rules but were vaccinated in line with the Greenbook criteria will be picked up in the Not Predicted CQRS Reports, found in clinical reporting under Ardens Ltd - Contracts | 2024 25 | CQRS.
Ardens Pneumococcal Template
The Pneumococcal template can be found under Auto-Consultation - ardens IMMS and INJECTIONS.
You can also find a short cut for this on our Immunisations Template. To learn how you can add this to your F12 please visit our F12 Favourite screen Support Article.
This template is split between admin vaccination codes at the top and links to the relevant pneumococcal vaccination templates near the bottom. Below the Green Book guidance hyperlink a list of the patients allergies and previous vaccinations along with any suggested vaccinations.
Clicking on the 'why is this patient eligible' button will run a protocol on the patient to see if they are eligible for a pneumococcal vaccination based on the Green Book guidance. A link to the The Green Book Chapter 25 guide is also available in this protocol if required.
Ardens Pneumococcal Vaccination Reports
These can be found in clinical reporting under Ardens Ltd, Vaccinations and Pneumococcal.
There 7 different pneumococcal folders available to use, they are:
Pneumococcal | 1 Cohorts
These reports are cohort lists of patients that would need a pneumococcal vaccination. Note - These reports should not be used for inviting patients as they may appear on multiple reports and they will not be removed if the invitation codes are added to the patients record.
Pneumococcal | 2 Review Before
These reports are to be reviewed before any ordering and invitations sent as they are checking to see if patients should or shouldn't be vaccinated following the Green Book guidelines.
Pneumococcal | 3 Eligible
This is your eligible list of patients, which is the same as the cohort but exclude patients who have been vaccinated, declined in last year, contraindicated in the last year or have an allergy recorded ever. Note - These reports should not be used for inviting patients as they may be in multiple reports.
Pneumococcal | 4 invitations | All
These reports can be used to invite patients for their Pneumococcal vaccination. Following the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Invitation process, you will be able to bulk send invitations to patients using the bulk action functionality in SystmOne as well as the relevant code in bulk for each of the different invitation stages.
Pneumococcal | 4 Visits
Nursing / residential patients along with housebound patients will not be included in the invitation reports, so the visits folder will be a list of the patients that will need to be visited for their vaccinations.
Pneumococcal | 5 Review After
These are useful reports to check if a patient has been either incorrectly coded, duplicate vaccinations recorded along with other useful data checking reports.
Pneumococcal | 6 Activity
This folder allows you to run reports on invitations sent and vaccinations given either monthly or yearly.
Pneumococcal | 7 Low Uptake Groups
These are low uptake cohorts that are eligible for vaccines.
